Get a look at the BOWfest 2012

The Loch Fyne Whisky Bar returns to Inveraray Castle for the second Best of the West Festival in mid-September, which was held in a large clear span tent. Originally created for the Connect music festival, the whisky bar seeks to encourage all people to consider re-tasting whisky, hence the bar’s motto ‘once in a while’ from the song by The Doors.

The bar in the large outdoor tent will feature all 20 distilleries of the west of Scotland and many representatives, owners, and managers will be on hand to pour and discuss your dram. Whisky fans can pay-as-you-go or buy an all-day tasting ticket that lets you graze and sample the entire selection on offer for a single reasonable payment (last year it was £12).

37th Annual Hampton Classic

As one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States, and a premier destination for horse people, the Classic is a much anticipated stop on the summer tour. The Hampton Classic Horse Show is in a class all its own, both in the minds of spectators and horse people alike.

At the Hampton Classic, you will see some of the top jumper rider from around the world, coming to compete for some of the richest prize money offered in this country.

On the beautiful grass of the Grand Prix Ring, you will find probably the tensest competition all week. Dozens of ponies parade their riders, while their proud parents and grandparents watch nervously from the VIP tents. The large clear span tent is a good watching platform for ponies’ families, friends and fans.

The 37th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show galloped into Bridgehampton this past week, drawing big crowds for Sunday’s main event, the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix. Michael Bloomberg, whose daughter Georgina competed earlier in the week, enjoyed the VIP tent, along with James Lipton, Peter Cook, B. Smith, Jill Zarin, Rick and Kathy Hilton, Kelly Klein, and Rosanna Scotto. The scene from the VIP tent was only trumped by the action on the field, where Kent Farrington triumphed in a three-horse jump-off on Amalaya Investments’ 10-year-old horse, Voyeur.
